About the Government Delivery Unit

Turning promises into progress.

The Government Delivery Unit coordinates, tracks and communicates the delivery of Kenya's national development priorities — driven by data, grounded in evidence, and centered on citizens.

How we verify delivery

From a promise to proof, in four steps

GDU follows every national priority project from commitment to completion. The figures below are live: they come from the Delivery Information System and GDU's published field reports.

Refreshed every minute
  1. Monitor

Every project is recorded in the Delivery Information System with its agency, location, budget, timeline and stage, and kept up to date as work moves.

4,758projects tracked, 1,328 of them updated in the last 7 daysSee them on the map
  2. Verify on the ground

GDU field teams visit sites with the implementing agencies, check progress against what was promised, and photograph what they find.

4field reports published, from 4 countiesRead the field reports
  3. Accelerate

Where work has stalled, GDU brings the agencies responsible together to find the cause and unblock it, and follows up until it moves again.

  4. Report and communicate

Progress is measured against where each programme started, reported to decision-makers, and published here for every Kenyan to see.

What is reported sets what is monitored next. The cycle repeats.

Who we are

A key organ of the Executive Office of the President

The Government Delivery Unit (GDU) is one of the key organs established under the Executive Office of the President, currently domiciled under the Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of The Public Service.

How GDU verifies delivery
  1. The mandate

At its core, the GDU exists to bridge the gap between policy commitments and on-the-ground results. By working across government agencies, the private sector and civil society, it ensures that the Administration's promises are tracked, unblocked and delivered in a transparent and accountable manner.

  2. The delivery intelligence hub

GDU gathers field data, prepares progress reports and communicates results to the public and to policymakers through the Delivery Information System.
